Toon Tuesday

Hello furiends. I have some more funnies for you! Me and Bijou have been playing out in the yard and going on walks with mom cause it is finally sunny and warm. Spring is the best time ever! Specially when it comes after a yucky winter like the one we just had. My mom is SO busy messing in her flower beds that she can't find a minute to take any pictures of our house so you can see how the new siding looks. Take my word for it, it looks terrific! I will try and get her to take some new pictures of me and my sister playing outside so you don't forget what we look like. ~Banjo~

Spring Cleaning

Hi furiends. I have a very important question to ask you.
My mom has been watching those hoarding shows on the tellyvision. So today she comes home from work and tells me we need to clean out the toy box and give away the toys we are not playing with anymore cause today is Letting Go Of Stuff Day.

Now I ask you doggies.
Am I a hoarder?
Do I have too many toys?
Gosh, is there even such a thing as having, "too many" toys?

(Mom and I made a deal that I can keep all my toys if you all say it's okay.So please leave a comment and let her know you agree with me.)

Toon Tuesday

Hello furiends! Did you miss me? Bijou hasn't got to make a post for over a week cause mom has been too busy to help her. I did get her to help me post my funnies though. I hope you like them. The siding men are almost done working on our house and we have been going outside lots to play while mom works in the yard. She didn't take any pictures of us though cause you have seen it all before. We miss seeing our furiend's blogs, so I hope mom can find time for visiting when things slow down around here.

Happy Nappy Day!

Today is one of my favorite days of the year.

Yep doggies, believe it or not, there is a day set aside to celebrate naps. I'm trying my best to get some rest, but the noisy siding men are making it difficult.

Don't you worry though, I will succeed!

Oh yeah, in case you've been wondering, my mom is busy snoopervising the siding men so she is not helping me with my blog so I haven't been posting or visiting like usual. I hope when things are back to normal around here I can start blogging more often.

Furiends, get your Zzzzzzzs today!

Bangity Bang!

Some of you might remember me posting last September about our old house getting a makeover. If not, you can read all about it here. Well we got a new roof and gutters from the insurance company cause the ice storms messed up our house. Then mom decided she wanted to make the house look even better with new siding. Sadly, the siding men couldn't work on our house last fall cause they were too busy. But today they showed up and started banging around and tearing stuff off the house and making so much noise that me and Banjo have been barking at them until mom yelled at us. Can you believe that? Those siding men are making lots more noise then us, but she isn't telling them to "shut up"! Geesh.

Here the guys are nailing up insulation before putting the siding on. Mom says this will make our house warmer next winter.

Me and Banjo can only look out the back door.
We can't go outside cause the noisy men are working.

Mom told us some terrible news about our sunny window box.
It is going to be taken down! We only have a day or two to enjoy it before it is removed by the siding guys. This makes me very sad cause I love taking naps in the sun when it's too cold to go outside. This is another reason for me to hate the noisy siding men!

"Just A Dog"

From time to time, people tell me,
"lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."

They don't understand the distance traveled,
the time spent, or the costs involved for
"just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with
"just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was
"just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought
about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness,
the gentle touch of "just a dog"
gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog,"
then you will probably understand phases
like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or
"just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence
of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and
patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early,
take long walks and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog"
but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams
of the future, the fond memories of the past,
and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and
diverts my thoughts away from myself and the
worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that
it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps
me from being "just a man."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog."
just smile, because they "just don't understand."

What If Cats And Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day

I'm interrupting my usual Wordless Wednesday post to let you know that today is, "What If Cats & Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs" day. Seriously. This is a real holiday. Mom read about it in the newspaper then we looked it up on the internet. You can read about it here. So I asked myself, what would I do if I had thumbs. Well, I think thumbs are overrated, but I guess if I had one I could hitch a ride south and get some SUN!

Brrrr. Turn up the heat. It's freezing in here!

So furiends, what would YOU do if you had thumbs?
