Yep, even though that mean old sun played peek-a-boo with us, mom took us on a long walk after lunch yesterday. We went all the way from our house, at the south end of town, to the lake at the north end of town and back home again.
This cute Rat Terrier wanted to walk with us, but we don't know his hoomans, so he had to stay home.
Can you guess what I'm looking at? It's the same thing Banjo is looking at but his is running across the street.
If you guessed a squirrel (or tree rat, as we like to call them), you were right. And this one was as bold as can be! Be sure to bigify the picture so you can see him better. That brave rat just stood there staring at me and there wasn't a flippin' thing I could do cause mom had a tight hold on the darn leash!! I tell ya, those dang tree rats were running around everywhere. Mom said they were busy gathering nuts to store away for the winter. I think they were just out teasing us cause they knew we couldn't run after them!
This picture was taken at a mini park. Mom put us up on one of the monuments, which was about shoulder high for her and told us not to be stoopid and jump down.
Yeah sure whatever mom.
But what if a tree rat comes running past?
But what if a tree rat comes running past?
Oh mom, I hate to end your fun. But if you don't want one of us to break a leg or maybe a neck even, you better get us down now cause one of those loony tree rats is headed this way.
~
The walk home was uneventful, 'cept for one slow tree rat we met. He was lying squished in the street. I guess he won't be needing his stash of nuts this winter. BOL
I tried to get mom to take his picture but she wouldn't.

You're lucky Radar lives so close! Looks like a nice walk... thoes tree rats are colecting TONS of nuts near our house... we may not have a bunch of fall leaves, but we have plenty of food for the stinkien tree rats!

Gosh those little vermin seem to be just everywhere! The world is filled with tree rats!
Looks like you three enjoyed your walkie. Marge didn't like posing up high, either.. unfortunately I've made her do it a couple of times. LOL!
"Squished Squirrel"
Why didn't your mom take it home & throw it on the grill? BOL
That looks like a wonderful walkie...
We bark at tree rats too! There was one that we saw at the back of our house and he just sat there teasing us until our human shooed it away!
Oh my word do you three look adorable!

That looks like a great walk the three of you had, hope you enjoyed it. We don't see squirrels in the park very often and are so busy doing sentry duty for big dogs we'd miss 'em anyway.
Wags and kisses, Dinah, Bridget and Elliot xx
Our momma thinks that your momma is furry brave cuz she put us on a coupler once and nearly got dumped over in the parking lot cuz we were all excited! She never did that again!
What a fun walkie all the way to the lake...nice to share your mom with Radar...you all looked very cute on the statue thingy...my mom makes me stand on those kinds of things to! Keep on with the war against tree rats...it is a all day job in Colorado guarding my house from them :)
Hi Bijou and Banjo!
Thanks for taking us along for a walk today. Poor tree rattie! But well, perhaps he's better off there than running around your guys, right?!
Your "monument" photo with Radar is really cutie! Weeeee

Those are not nuts they're burrying! They are landmines for the great mutant squirrel war!!
My mom doesn't believe me, but she will one day! Great job keeping an eye on the tree rats!
Aren't leash splitters wonderful? I do have to say though that Mesa loves to drag Baily away when she is trying to potty so it can be tricky sometimes!
I'm a cat in Texas. My says Iowa, the faraway land, she hails from is close to Nebraska..the photos of being monuments are PRICELESS! Nice, very nice!
Who is bigger, you or the tree rats?
Wuv,
Gus and Waldo
You three look awful darn cute on that monument.
