Man May Work From Sun to Sun,

But Woman's Work Is Never Done!

Me and little brother played in the house all morning while mom did the laundry and cleaned the house. Since it has been rainy here all week I expected her to take us for a walk when the sun came out after lunch. But instead she sent us out in the backyard to play while she worked on our old house again. She said she needed to get this chore done before the siding man came in a few weeks. Okay, I understand the house needs attention too, but gee whiz mom, do you have to spend the whole day working?

So me and Banjo played with our toys and chased each other around the yard for awhile. We then went and watched mom through the gate. She had to crawl under our house through this tiny window. We BOL when her fat hiney almost made her get stuck! You know, like that bear after the honey. But she finally squeezed through the hole and disappeared. We could hear her under there banging on something and mumbling some HBO words, then she came crawling out from under the house, covered in dirt and cobwebs.

She then spent the next two hours squirting this stinky stuff in the foundation cracks, then smoothing it out. It was so boring, me and Banjo finally gave up watching and went and took a nap on the futon swing.

Here's a "before" picture of the cracks.

By the time mom got cleaned up enough to handle the camera again it was almost to dark for an "after" picture but she managed to get this one.

The foundation still needs to be painted chocolate brown. Mom says it will look much better then. Maybe I'll let her post one picture to show you what it looks like when the work is all done.

* Will the work ever be "all done" though? *

Mom said these cracks were made cause the blocks moved when the rain washed away the dirt underneath. But now we have new gutters to make the rain water go away from the house so the blocks shouldn't move again. She was going to hire a handyman to do the repairs but she decided to do it herself and save $100.

I hope the sun is shining tomorrow so we can go on a long walk!

Our funny Chihuahua furiend, Coco, gave us this award the other day. Thank you so very much!! We only wish that was a real cupcake!

Go check out Coco's blog. You will be ever so glad you did!

Our mummy has been busy too...just don't understand the humans! We have not been able to go to the park either because mummy got to work or it has been raining...

You two are very cheeky but very funny.
Your poor mum sounds as though she is working her fingers to the bone to make the house nice for you all, hope she is having lots of coffee and cake breaks and nice hot baths at the end of the day as a treat.
Congrats on your award, you ARE the sweetest!

What an industrious mommy you have! My mom will take on some tasks, but I don't know about crawling under the house!! It must have been a little role reversal, you two terriers sitting there, watching your mom "go to ground" BOL!

Our Mom knows what it's like to work on the house, but those days are over, now she hires people. Your Mom did a good job filling in the cracks, can't wait to see it when it's finished. Glad you guys were patient and played, I know that helped her get her work done. I jope you have nice weather for a walk today!

That is a very funny story. My fat hiney almost gets stuck too at times. Have fun playing. Keep dropping the toys by moms feet, that will get her attention
