Mom read something she found interesting in the newspaper today and wanted me to share it with you. The news article was about a new all-pet airline, Pet Airways. This airline is dedicated to providing safe and comfortable travel for pets, as all "dogs and cats fly in the main cabin of Suburban Air Freight planes, which have been retooled and lined with carriers in place of seats. Attendants escort the pets to planes and check on the animals every 15 minutes during flight." These pampered pawsengers will also get "pre-boarding walks and bathroom breaks. And at each of the five airports it serves, the company has created a “Pet Lounge” for future fliers to wait and sniff before flights." Fights just began yesterday from five major cities, including New York, Chicago and LA, with plans for 50 additional cities by the end of 2009. Tickets for the flights, operated once a week by Suburban Air Freight based in Omaha, Neb., start at $149 each way.
I doubt me and Banjo will ever need to go anywhere by plane, but for those doggies needing this service, we think this is terrific news!
What in-flight movies might they show? BOL
