A Plastic Bottle

Mom discovered when I was a little pup that one of my favorite toys is an empty plastic water bottle. I love the crackling noise it makes when I crunch my teeth into it. It is great fun. Banjo would like to play with the bottle too but it's MINE.

The video is kinda long but mom says if you can make it to the last 20 seconds, that is the bestest part. I guess I must have done something funny cause she laughed at me. Oh and the reason she is asking me if it is dead, is cause she takes it away when I've killed it or I will eat the plastic pieces.

Rain Rain Go Away!

Everyone here has been repeating that phrase for the past three days. Today we finally got our wish. The sun came out and even though it was not very warm, we spent most of the afternoon and part of this evening out in the yard playing. The grass is nice and soft and smells so good that me and Banjo can't keep our noses out of it.

Banjo would wait for me to find a good stick then he'd try to take it from me. He needs to do some more growing before that will happen though.

Cause even if he does get the stick I just take it right back.

Then the little runt has to go tattle to mom that I won't share the sticks with him.

Mom tells him the yard is full of little sticks and wood chips from the flower beds so he should go find one of his own.

And he does.

I wait for Banjo to get all focused on his stick chomping.

And then I make my move.

It's like taking candy from a baby.

BOL

Yeah I know... I'm being mean. But that's what big sisters are for right? It's my job to make little brother tough. Then when he goes out into the big bad world he'll be prepared. Don't worry though. He's my only brother so I take care of him too.

All About Banjo

It has recently been brought to my attention that not much is known about my little brother, Banjo. It seems some of my friends are curious to know more about him. I had no idea the little runt was so popular. Mom says I could be nice and give Banjo a voice and allow him to make a posting one day a week. I seriously doubt he has that much to say.

I'm not sure when he'll start posting on my blog. One day soon I guess. For now, I have asked Banjo to list his favorite and least favorite things so I could share them with you today.

Ten things I like:
  1. napping
  2. rassling with Bijou
  3. chewing/chasing/rolling in leaves
  4. chomping on sticks
  5. meeting new people
  6. meeting new doggies
  7. eating Bijou's food
  8. lying in the sun
  9. treats
  10. sleeping under the covers
~~~
Ten things I hate:
  1. being held on my back like a baby
  2. long walks
  3. my food
  4. being slower than Bijou
  5. Bijou taking all the toys
  6. the cold
  7. the carpet sweeper
  8. being alone
  9. the baby gate
  10. the camera
Sunday's Featured Doggies
Yesterday mom went on a search for gardening stuff. She came back with some plants and other stuff, but nothing for us. She said she didn't go anywhere that had dog treats and toys. I guess we will forgive her this time. So that is why I didn't make a posting, she was to tired when she got back. Anyway, here are this week's homeless Rat Terriers. If you don't live near any of these dogs, check with your local shelter.
This is Carly. She lives in Lomita, California and is 3 years old. Carly is very playful and affectionate. She loves other dogs, but would do best in a home with adults and older children only.
~~~

This cute guy is Kix. He is located in Pasadena, California. Kix is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He is 2 years old and is a calm and easy going guy who loves to be held.

~~~
This is Tulip. She is located in Santa Cruz, California. She is an adult, Rat Terrier/Manchester Terrier mix. Tulip is a fun, upbeat, energetic little girl. She would love a playmate but would be equally happy as an only dog.
It's Arbor Day!
Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. It was started by a man named J. Sterling Morton and he lived here in Nebraska. The very first AD was celebrated in our state on April 10, 1872 and over 1 million trees were planted! In 1885 Arbor Day was named a legal holiday in Nebraska and April 22, Morton's birthday,was selected as the date for its permanent observance.
During the 1870s, other states passed legislation to observe Arbor day, and the tradition began in schools in 1882. Today the most common date for the state observances is the last Friday in April, and several U.S. presidents have proclaimed a National Arbor Day on that date. But a number of state Arbor Days are at other times to coincide with the best tree-planting weather, from January and February in the south to May in the far north. Arbor Day has now spread beyond the United States and is observed in many countries of the world. In some it is the king or queen who leads the national celebration, and in many countries exotic trees not suited to North America are planted in commemoration of the day. To find out when Arbor Day is observed in your state, go here.
So, go plant a tree today!
True Colors Thursday
This week Blue has chosen rust for us to find... This is an easy one for me cause mom collects old rusty stuff. BOL
Mom considered naming Banjo "Rusty" .
Here's me with a little rusty-brown bucket, (it really isn't as brown as the picture shows).
A butterfly in the garden.
This is new, so not as rusty.
A dragonfly in the garden.
Stars in the garden.
A garden rake.
I could go on and on and on!
Golly Gee , Awards For Me
My good friends Chase and Checkers sent me these pawesome weblog awards. Thanks guys! The first is the Proximity Award.
"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."
~~~

The second award is the, Neno's Award and is given... "As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.To seek the reason why we all love blogging. Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it. Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award. Answer the Award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging. Tag and distribute the Award to as many people as you like."

The things I love best about blogging would be all the terrific dogs that I have met and that it gives me the chance to learn about places I would never have the opportunity to visit. I love discovering interesting things about your lives and the people you live with. Blogging is a way for me to share my life with others and hopefully make some friends along the way.

I am passing these awards on to: Lexi, CoCo the Puggle, Matilda, Pink Chihuahua Princess, Poppy, Lola, Tadpole, Loki-Ares-Vixen, Gizmo & Ziggy.

Tasty Treats!

I posted this morning that I would show you what mom brought back for us. Well, we kinda forgot. But we have a good excuse. We were playing outdoors ALL afternoon while mom cleaned the garage. When we finally came inside, we were all so tired that we didn't have the energy to make another post on my blog right then. So I asked her to help me with this slide show tonight, cause I wanted to post it before we went to bed.

Soggy Saturday

The weekend is finally here but it is raining so we are stuck indoors. Mom is going shopping with a friend, but we can't go. She promises to bring us a surprise, so I guess that is something to look forward to.

After reading your comments, Mom has decided that my ball addiction isn't so bad after all. She agrees that I could have an addiction to shoes or other things that are more expensive to replace than tennis balls. Speaking of tennis balls....

Have a great day friends!
